Sublime Design
by Judith Cohen
My mother was a noted interior decorator who encouraged me to ask questions about the business. When shopping I would ask, “What is the ‘best’, referring to whatever we might be viewing. She always answered that there was no such thing as the best; the final goal in designing and decorating a room is to create atmosphere, blending classic style and flair.
Having specialized in residential and professional office interiors for over 20 years, I understand my mother’s decorating philosophy, and embrace it wholeheartedly. Before opening Judith Cohen Design, I worked as an assistant to the Surrealist painter Salvador Dali, and for the well-known interior designers Mario Buatta and Abbey Darer. I learned to love what makes design exciting and developed my own classic and current style.
My work has been featured in Redbook, Woman’s Day, House Beautiful, Home Ideas and Family Circle. Two children’s rooms are featured in the book, “Rooms to Grow, Creating Rooms and Furniture for Children” by Jane Cornell.
I am delighted to share my passion for interior design with you through Sublime Design for Westchester Cottages & Gardens. I can’t wait to tell you about the rooms and furnishings that inspire me, and provide some interesting, fanciful and enjoyable ideas for your home.
