Take a Tour of Tulsa's Philbrook Gardens

Philbrook Museum Main

I didn't really know what to expect during my recent trip to Tulsa. To be completely honest, this Southern state was unknown in terms of its cultural attractions; however, I was quickly immersed into all things Tulsa where I developed a new appreciation for its many offerings, distinctive architecture, booming cultural re-birth, and unique culinary offerings (more on that soon).

One highlight during this adventure was a trip to the Philbrook Gardens, which has been accurately touted as a "little piece of Tuscany in Tulsa." Built from 1926-1927, Villa Philbrook was once owned by Waite and Genevieve Phillips, who in 1938, gifted the city of Tulsa the 72-room mansion and surrounding 23 acres of grounds.

Now considered one of America’s finest art museums, I had the pleasure to walk the grounds of this luscious garden, soaking in its beauty and admiring the depth of its impressive installations, landscape, and architecture.

Check out the complete gallery for more about this incredible garden.
