C&G Media Group Announces a Website Relaunch
For Immediate Release
The digital companion to C&G Media Group's four regional print titles, CottagesGardens.com, relaunches today. The new website features bigger pictures, cleaner pages and a navigation that speaks to the strengths of Cottages & Gardens' content and the way readers search for it. "With an overwhelming amount of referral traffic coming to us from Pinterest, we focused on putting our most popular content up front in an easy-to-navigate format," says Digital Content Director Anne-Marie Scali.
Readers will now be able to browse the brand's highly curated collection of home tours by both style and region.
Likewise, they can easily sort through thousands of luxury products, from lighting fixtures and fabrics to outdoor furniture and tile and stone, all sourced from the regions top retailers and showrooms.
In addition to content from the magazine, the site will offer original articles and slideshows from outside contributors — bloggers, designers, and tastemakers.
With the site re-launch comes a new mobile-friendly experience for the 40% percent of traffic coming to us from handheld devices. "Our readers devour the glossy, oversized pages of our print magazines," says CEO Marianne Howatson, "and now they will be able to count on our mobile site as another source of inspiration for when they are on the go. We anticipate that the expanded experience will attract new readers as well as advertisers.”
2015 saw a 420% increase in the brand's digital advertising revenue, thanks to successful strategic partnerships with companies such as Design Within Reach, Wayfair, PIRCH, Lillian August, Ring's End, Garnet Hill, Frank Webb's Bath Center, Connecticut Stone and Best Plumbing, Tile and Stone.
"In 2016, we will continue to focus on new ways to engage our growing audience across all platforms,"says Howatson. "This includes video, additional e-commerce offerings and an even stronger focus on social media."
