Molto Serves Up Authentic Italian Fare in the Heart of Fairfield County



Molto Story in Connecticut

Discovering authentic Italian food can sometimes be a rare find outside of New York City. During a recent visit to the charming Molto, I was surprised to discover a local gem in the heart of Fairfield County, serving up incredible Italian food in its relaxing and fun eatery. 

Molto Bar

Featuring an open floor-plan, guests can opt to sit at the long (and very stylish) bar overlooking a sea of carefully arranged bottles for apps, drinks and conversation. For lunch and dinner, they also have sitting at one of their open banquette tables or towards the front by the window. However, there are no bad seats in the house, where you can casually watch the pizzas going into the brick oven, or view one of the Italian films on display in between bites.

Molto Cocktails

Our helpful and attentive server walked us through their extensive wine list where I opted for a Malbec (although it was hard to choose - everything sounded so good!). They also offer have an extensive cocktail menu featuring some yummy options like the Pear Flower (Absolut pears, St. Germain, and prosecco float) and the Berry Godmother (Belvedere wild berry, muddled cucumber, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, lychee juice), to name a few options.

Molto Gnocchi and ravioli

To start out, we sampled a variety of their appetizers, including the to-die-for potato gnocchi that was beautifully seasoned with a rich yet sweet butternut squash cream sauce. The diverse appetizer menu made it easy to try out a bunch of flavorful options for sharing like the shrimp with roasted tomatoes, arugula, white beans, garlic and their salmon toast special. Offering something for everyone, notable appetizers on the menu included roasted cauliflower, eggplant tapas, roasted beets, and mussels that I can't wait to go back and try.

Molto Pizza Shrimp

Next up was a sampling of their brick oven pizzas. Featuring 12 options to choose from, we opted to try two styles with one half being a California pizza (shrimp, avocado, arugula, lime, tomato) and the other being pesto (pesto sauce, roasted tomatoes, grilled chicken, and mozzarella). The unexpected California was by far my favorite, featuring a rich combination of flavors that blended incredibly well with the homemade pizza dough. I also loved how you could opt for half portions, which is another great way to try a little bit of everything that Molto has to offers.

Molto Pasta

During the dinner, we also had the opportunity to sample some of their homemade pastas, which included a variety of classic dishes to their spin on everyday favorites. homemade options. This included samplings of the pappardelle shot rib dish eaturing wide-ribbon pasta, pulled short rib, and vegetables in a yummy demi glaze. Another favorite was the classic chicken parmigiana in a creamy burrata mozzarella and marinara with a side of penne. The sauce was amazing that was a comforting combination with the chicken and penne.

Molto Chocolate Cake

Happily stuffed, we opted out of dessert but loved all of the options, especially the chocolate lava cake and the cannoli cheesecake that I'm excited to try next time.

Featuring a mix of delicious food in their relaxed yet fun environment, Molto will surely be one of your favorite spots for authentic Italian fare in Connecticut.
