Europa, Europa

Two great fairs on the Continent show off the very best in decor and antiques

PARIS MATCH

Who can resist the alluring pleasures of Paris? The city is dazzling even in the drizzly rain of January, when the French art of living is showcased during Maison et Objet. The largest home furnishings and accessories show in Europe, it’s held twice a year just outside central Paris in the Parc des Expositions, which is transformed into a vast bazaar of new products for design lovers far and wide. While I was there to search for treasures for Comerford Collection, my shop in Bridgehampton, I definitely made time to explore the best of the city, too. After all, Paris is Paris! —Karen Comerford

DUTCH TREAT

March Madness took on new meaning at TEFAF, the European Fine Art Fair in the small Dutch city of Maastricht. Designer Calvin Klein and decorators Susan Gutfreund and David Kleinberg were among the attendees at this year’s fair, which most people describe as a museum-like experience, given its stunning array of art and artifacts. —Alejandro Saralegui
