Airbnb Creates Memorable Celebrity Experiences in NYC with Sarah Jessica Parker and Ansel Elgort
Earlier this year, fast-growing Airbnb began expanding its services beyond apartment rentals in New York to offer what it calls “experiences.” These exploratory excursions offer anything from a cocktail making lesson in the West Village to urban farming in Harlem, and now some NYC celebrities are starting to offer themselves as part of these packages.
According to Curbed.com, Sarah Jessica Parker partnered with Airbnb to create an experience that will make Sex and the City fans weak at the knees. For $400, tour-goers begin the evening of glam by going shopping with the real-life Carrie Bradshaw at Bloomingdales where she will help them pick out a pair of shoes from her collection. Next, SJP will lead the group to get frozen yogurt where they will get to gab with the fashion icon about her life in NYC.
If that doesn’t sound like the perfect day already, Sarah Jessica Parker will finish the evening by sending the group off to the New York City Ballet where there will be “some VIP surprises,” per the Airbnb listing. Before you run and pull out your credit cards, the chance to get in on this unforgettable event has passed. Only four spots were available and it unsurprisingly sold out in lightening speed.
Across the city, actor and musician Ansel Elgort will be hosting a very different kind of experience in Brooklyn for $250 that is equally coveted. This sold out Airbnb experience will start with Elgort taking tour-goers rock climbing at Brooklyn Boulders followed by a trip to his favorite vintage music store. After a walk on the waterfront, Elgort will direct the group to the Radegast Beer Hall where they will part ways and finish the day by exploring the authentic Biergarten.
In both experiences, lucky tourists will get to spend time getting to know their favorite NYC native celebrities while also giving back. All ticket proceeds will be given to charity with Sarah Jessica Parker’s tour giving to the New York City Ballet and Ansel Elgort’s tour giving to Americares.
