Laura Mercier’s Chelsea Apartment Quickly Finds a Buyer
Makeup guru Laura Mercier has found a buyer for her two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom Walker Tower condo. After being on the market for less than a month, the 2,168 square-foot apartment entered into contract in August for $11.5 million. Now, the sale has closed at $10.6 million.
Although the apartment sold for under asking price, the French native still managed to turn a sweet profit having purchased it for $5.91 million in 2013. Not to mention, she snagged an all-cash buyer.
The apartment she leaves behind offers floor-to-ceiling windows, French herringbone floors, and ample closet space. The master bedroom boasts four closets and a master bath that looks like pure bliss. A cast iron tub and steam shower surrounded by exquisite marble promise a spa-like experience.
Walker Tower, at 212 W. 18th Street, is Ralph Walker’s Art Deco classic. Mercier was one of the first to purchase a condo in the building and since then, many A-listers have shown interest in the units, including Cameron Diaz and Harrison Ford.
According to the New York Post, the cosmetics mogul plans to find a smaller apartment in Chelsea and spend more time living in Europe to expand her brand there.
The breathtaking bathroom was surely the cherry on top for the all-cash buyer.
The kitchen contrasts stainless steel appliances with rustic wood cabinets. The polar opposite styles complement each other in an unexpected and refreshing way.
The spacious master bedroom is filled with glorious natural light.
Plush carpets work to distinguish the different spaces within the master bedroom. A new view from each window connects you to the heart of the city.
