First Look! Inside the Robert Couturier-Designed Apartment on Billionaire’s Row
252 East 57th Street, the impressive new SOM luxury condominium on Billionaire’s Row, just added Robert Couturier's name to its list of illustrious designers. Renowned architect and interior designer Daniel Romauldez created the interiors of the building, but Couturier was brought in specifically to furnish the 52nd floor model residence.
Couturier infused traditional design elements into the modern, light-filled 3,050-square-foot apartment. Working within the space, the designer tells us: “The living room does not have an obvious furniture placement as a typical living room would, so it was interesting to come up with different solutions and ultimately settle on the one we felt was best for the space.”
A warm color palette permeates the rooms and a wide variety of prints intermingle to showcase how versatile the 3-bed, 3.5-bath abode can be. Contemporary furniture coexists beautifully with antiques and statement art pieces. Couturier felt that "the tension between the modern and customary made for more dynamic and interesting spaces.”
The model residence is currently listed with Stribling & Associates for $7.995 million. Other luxe units in the 65-story building are also available, including the $37.5 million penthouse.
