The Iconic New York Hilton Midtown Turns 55

June 26th, 2018 marks 55 years since the New York Hilton Midtown opened its doors, which has been aptly named the "Official New York Hilton Midtown Day." Opened in 1963 as ‘The New York Hilton at Rockefeller Center,’ the hotel hosted some momentous historic events, such as the first cell phone call in 1973 and Princess Diana’s “Humanitarian of the Year” banquet.

The hotel also housed famous rockers like the Beatles, who stayed at the hotel before their debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, and John Lennon, who, wrote "Imagine" on the hotel's stationery. Ronald Reagan announced his candidacy for President of the United States at the hotel; and, recently, Donald Trump, who, held his election party at the hotel. Other notable celebrity guests include John F. Kennedy, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and Stevie Wonder.

Featuring 1,929-rooms, the popular hotel is also in a prime spot being within close proximity to Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Museum of Modern Art, Carnegie Hall, Broadway, and the shops along Fifth Avenue.
