Houston Rockets Owner Leslie Alexander Seeks $68M for 2 NYC Residences
Billionaire businessman Leslie Alexander, owner of the NBA team the Houston Rockets, will be trading in his New York apartments for a cool $68M if all goes his way. Within days of each other, his full-floor condo at the Baccarat and his duplex penthouse at 18 Gramercy Park South hit the market asking $21.5M and $46.5M, respectively.
The Baccarat residence occupies the 44th floor of the Baccarat Hotel & Residences and boasts 4,545 square feet of interior living space designed by Tony Ingrao. In addition to 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, there is a grand living room and dining area with 11-foot ceilings, a chef’s eat-in kitchen and an entry foyer that sports the signature Baccarat chandelier. Residence owners get access to all of the Baccarat hotel amenities including the award-winning Baccarat Bar, the Spa de la Mer and the concierge services. Alexander bought this apartment less than 2 years ago for $20.6M. Douglas Elliman’s Ekaterina Brody, Keyan Senai and Theresa Thompson represent the listing.
Moving on to the Gramercy Park penthouse, this isn’t the first time Alexander has tried to part with it; in fact, it’s the third time in the last 2 years it’s been on the market with list prices of $49.75M, $47.5M and the current ask, $46.5M. The 10-room duplex spans 6,329 square feet with an additional 1,889 square feet encompassed by private terraces located off the great room and master bedroom and a sundeck featuring a hot tub and swimming pool adjacent to the wet bar. Notable details include a 40-foot living room, a spa-like master bathroom with a freestanding cast iron tub and hand painted cabinetry in the kitchen. Douglas Elliman’s Raphael De Niro, Sara Dai and James C Flowers represent the listing.
