Photography as Artifact and Artifice, a Discussion with Ben Gest

Date/Time

Feb 25, 2018
03:00 PM

Description

Join exhibiting artist and internationally renowned photographer Ben Gest at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum for a fascinating discussion on the nature and practice of photography and the complicated, and often times subliminal, role of the photographer.

Gest will walk visitors through Shared Space: A New Era, and the Museum's camera obscura, and lead a conversation exploring the ways photographs not only act as documents of the subjects they present, but also as records of the photographer's personal experiences and the broader socio-cultural climate.

*Snow Date: Sunday, March 4*
