The New Britain Museum of American Art presents Architecture as Muse: The Grand Tour.

The exhibition follows the itinerary of numerous artists, illustrators and architects through Europe and beyond as they record varied architecture of Spain, England, Italy, France, Germany, Greece, Mexico and more.

The works depict architectural subjects ranging from Tudor-style English homes, Italianate towers, cathedrals in France, as well as remnants of classical antiquity. 

Two centuries worth of prints, watercolors and drawings are on view from artists including Jasper Cropsey, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, John Singer Sargent, John Marin, William F. Brooks and Keith Miller.
