The Georgian Revival-style Residence of the Connecticut Governor in Hartford is more than 100 years old. Known as "the people’s house," the Residence is toured every year by thousands of visitors and is the site for events hosted by not-for-profit organizations.
In order to commemorate and preserve the home’s historic value, the Governor’s Residence Conservancy (a private, not-for-profi t organization established in 1991), worked with a special design team, organized and led by Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, to achieve a meaningful transformation of the Residence. The Connecticut Cottages & Gardens design team helped renew and refurbish some of the interior public spaces of the Residence, along with the guest cottage and pool house. Many donated products, time and labor—efforts that will certainly enhance the Residence and leave a lasting impression for years to come.
