A Trendy Old-Made-New Development In Norwich Opens Its Doors

A new project called the Lofts at Ponemah Mills opened its doors late in 2017, located on the circa-1866 Ponemah Mill site, once the world’s second largest cotton mill, along the banks of the Shetucket River. The first phases of this massive renovation brought 116 chic one, two- and three-bedroom loft-style rental apartments to the market, featuring exposed brick walls and soaring ceilings. There’s also a wealth of amenities for residents, including a fitness center, steam room and sauna, 15-seat movie theater and a community center with a large-screen TV, game room and outdoor BBQ areas with fire pits. Construction on additional units is breaking ground this spring.
