Ballet Bursting Out
Astonishing young Grand Prix winning dancers perform at Lincoln Center
As adorable as the little figures twirling on music boxes and as accomplished as adult members of the corps de ballet, finalists and Gold Medal Winners from the world's largest student ballet scholarship competition astounded the Lincoln Center audience at this year's Youth America Grand Prix Gala.

After introductions from actors Brian d'Arcy James and Ana Gasteyer, "Stars of Tomorrow" showcased their dancers from around the world ranging in ages from 9 to 19 years old. They performed pieces from a froggy courtship to a romantic pas de deux. Following intermission "Stars of Today" presented world premiere pieces including Mariinsky Ballet's Ekaterina Kondaurova, dancing with three male partners to "Gentle Memories," moodily romantic original music composed by Karen Lefrak.
Among those captivated in the crowd were Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn, Vanessa Noel and Peter Lyden, as well as Princess Kristina Kovalenko, George and Mariana Kaufman and Steve Simon with Blaine Trump who was decked out in hot pink mink and vintage YSL dangly rose earrings.
